Trying to filter out, artists that don’t have the same music style in Nigeria can be a hard task. But one artist that seems to have chosen a different part of greatness is Fortune Angelo.
Fortune Angelo looking good for Nigeria’s R&B crown
What I am trying to say is, it’s hard to see a Nigerian artist not caught up in Afrobeat (genre) fever. A Phenomenon that has engulfed the African music scene, since the last 10 years. But when we do see one that is plying the R&B route or in a different music terrain like sensational Asa, Tuface, Brymo, Darey, Paul Play or Iyanya to name a few, we can’t help but sing his praise.
Started making music professionally in 2006, singing in a local boy’s band. A solo move in 2010 paid off and led to this new single, Kilode (Thought you should know, Kilode means “What’s Up” in the local dialect). A groovy love ballad set over bouncy mid-tempo drums. A track we are sure could be a massive hit with time, soon.
Fortune Angelo is not just a good songwriter/singer with sensual vocal presence, he is also a professional dancer (does that reminds you of a certain P-Square?) who also owns a dance academy. Impressive!
My fans should expect the full package. Great Records, wonderful entertaining videos, concerts that will have it all..’Cos I mix singing with dancing
If you’re still doubting his vocal abilities, you might want to listen and download his cover of Drake’s Hotline Bling. This magazine knows a future star when we hear one, do you?
