When Soul Music sounds like Haïlé Dästa

If you have long, after all these years, for a new artist to step into the shoes of neo-soul artists like D’Angelo, Dwele, Maxwell, Goapele, Bilal or Erykah Badu,  then you should listen to Haïlé Dästa Jno-Baptiste.

Haïlé Dästa Jno-Baptiste is an up and coming, multi-instrumentalist, French soul singer who is about to leave his footprints on the sands of time.  Born into a musical family (both of his parents make music), he started his musical journey at the age of 12 honing his skills, playing guitar.

He came into the limelight as a contestant on the début edition of The voice, France in 2012. Unfortunately, he didn’t win but he sure left a memorable impression on the minds of millions of TV viewers across the country, especially those who are dying to see something new and fresh on the French music scene.

A live music specialist, Haïlé Dästa Jno-Baptiste has worked with many famous French artists like Amel Bent, Ben l’oncle soul, Zaho, Y’akoto, Christophe Willem and even the French artist of the moment, Maitre Gims.  He also writes and produces.

Since that magic moment on the Voice, France, I knew he will be among the leaders of the new crops of neo-soul or soul artists like Leon Bridges.

I have been following him ever since then.  Call it musical stalking or whatever. I just don’t want to be caught off guard when he finally drops his début album.

Believe me, when I say, he is a full package.
