If you have long, after all these years, for a new artist to step into the shoes of neo-soul artists like D’Angelo, Dwele, Maxwell, Goapele, Bilal or Erykah Badu, then you should listen to Haïlé Dästa Jno-Baptiste.
Haïlé Dästa Jno-Baptiste is an up and coming multi-instrumental French soul singer who is about to leave his foot prints on the sand of time. Born into a musical family (both of his parents make music), he started his musical journey at the age of 12 horning his skills, playing guitar.
He came into the limelight as a contestant at the début edition of The voice, France in 2012. Unfortunately, he didn’t win but he such left a memorable impression on the minds of millions of TV viewers across the country, especially those who are dying to see something new and fresh in the French music scene.
Haïlé Dästa Jno-Baptiste has worked with many famous french artists like Amel Bent, Zaho, Y’akoto, Christophe Willem and even the French artist of the moment, Maitre Gims, from playing guitar to producing and composing.
Since that magic moment on TV, I knew he was going to be among the leaders of the new crop of soul artists like Leon Bridge. I have been following him ever since then. Call it musical stalking or whatever. I just don’t want to be caught unaware when he finally drops his début album. Believe me when I say, he is a full package.
