Mavado is out with a new track, ‘the truth’ and yes, he always delivers. When it comes to dancehall in this new era and he doesn’t come first on your list, you have probably been hanging out somewhere in mars.
MAVADO POURS OUT HIS HEART IN NEW SINGLE, “The Truth”.
He is actually the Tupac of Dancehall music with the lyrics from his music, coming mostly from his everyday life in the hood.
Mavado, (born David Constantine Brooks) is a Kingston, Jamaica singer who got influenced and later got nurtured by Jamaican superstar, Bounty Killer. He came to the scene in 2004 with a huge track titled ‘Real Mckoy’ which help grew his online presence and led to other hits in the 2005 and 2006 subsequently.
In 2007, he dropped, probably his most famous album till date, “Gangsta for life: the symphony of David Brooks” but the track that made him a worldwide household name, came during his beef years with Vybz Kartel titled ‘Never believe you’ and “I’m so special”.
Though, he has some cases with the laws which kept him out of the limelight for as long as it lasted, his old works still can make the dance floor bumpy.
What makes Mavado stands out from his peers is his signature sentimental and deep style of dancehall. Forget about his mean looks and past court cases. The truth is, Mavado is back.
